Summer of Freedom Reads Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature

Great to contribute to the Summer of Freedom Reads Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature, English PEN.

"Disabled people are in every oppressed group and they are most likely to be poor, unemployed. Disabled black and First Nations' peoples are more likely to experience police violence..."

#SummerOfFreedomReads is a series of summer writing workshops for young people held on the 8th, 15th, and 22nd August 2021 at the historic National Justice Museum, Nottingham. Writing workshops will look specifically at themes of protest, free speech and democracy, as well as taking a deep dive into some of the most famous (and infamous) books to have sparked public outrage across time.
